Our purpose is to get lives together and to provide the opportunity for those with more in life and of life, to share with those with less.
Programs
The Foundation offers a holistic approach to helping indigent leukemic children through financial and support programs.
There are many ways that L.I.F.E., Inc. gives its children some hope for life:
Sponsorship. A benefactor "clinically sponsors" a patient by paying for his chemotherapy, blood transfusions and infection control regimen for the crucial 3-year treatment period. Treatment costs roughly Php720,000 (as of 2022). A benefactor may choose any of the following options:
- Full Coverage - cost of full treatment which normally runs for 3 years
- Limited - cost for one (1) year of treatment. Expectedly, the first year of treatment will be higher than that for Years 2 or 3.
- Partial - cost for one (1) semester of treatment.
Sponsorships may be accepted from corporations or from individuals. A group of friends may co-adopt a child and form a "Circle of L.I.F.E."
Support Programs. L.I.F.E., Inc. places as much importance on addressing the emotional, psycho-social and spiritual needs of its sick children. It holds training programs to professionalize the delivery of support services, including modules on counseling, advocacy, and volunteer training.
The support group is composed mostly of parents and friends of the patients. On a daily basis, a "Mother of the Day" is designated to listen and lend comfort to the patients of the day.
Art, Music, Play and Spiritual Therapy. Artists lend their talent by giving lessons for leukemic children. As they await their chemotherapy, the children are encouraged to engage in creative work. Monthly healing Masses are held for their families.
Fellowship. Regular events are held exclusively for the children. These include birthday celebrations, annual Foundation Day and Christmas parties, and annual mini-Olympics events dubbed "Sports for L.I.F.E.".
